Dude man, third edition

I'm not sure whether to call this done or not. I think there just needs to be more shades on the bottom of the scene...to add some weight.

But other than that I really dig it :)

opinions plz :)

Dude man inks

Okay inked and now adding a BG...which is also being inked.

Colors, I'm re-thinking that one....I don't want to screw this up :P So it's not certain at this point if you're going to see some color splashed on this bad boy.

Stay tuned,

Piers

Quarter's up....nearly

OMG

This has been the quarter from hell.........I tried to take 4 classes (3 of which are hardcore academics) but that didn't work out too well. My friend and I tried skipping ahead to a higher level math class but did it too late...so I then got behind in everything else, and that class.

But I dropped math so I could focus again. And things sort of seem to be working out.

Animation and Japanese are great, but English is really lame :( I'll just be glad I've got it over with.

And by the end of the quarter I should have some cool anim projects to sample as well :) So keep on the look out :)

That's all for now folks :)

NEXT QUARTER SCHEDULE:

History of Jazz

Sculpture 1

Japanese 2

Animation Art History

Tin'n Rust

Feature this, I was trapped inside of an artblock...but suddenly, like a rescue rope from the ceiling, a piece of advice popped into my head and pulled me out of that miserable place. Just put shapes onto the page and see what happens.

Well it worked and this is what I came up with. I totally dig it :)

I recommend you DL the album and pollute your ear canals with delight ;)

And for god's sake, I'll be 20 here in a couple of weeks. 1 more year till I'm 21!!!

New Era....

Okay, my very first grey scale oil painting ever!!!! Awwww yeah.

My instructor was impressed, she said this level of detail does not happen often among her new students. So there is hope for me yet.

I think its rather nifty.

Odds and ends...

Aww yeah, few fun things I've been jamming in, mostly facial sketches and what not. I like these guys a lot. As fun character studies, they ain't half bad.

This however id from my animation class, its a simple story board that shows the piece I am gouing to creat for a sound project.

Snitch gets caught by gangsters, gangsters go ape shit on snitch...firing squad style. I will post upon completion.

Stay tuned folks, more kewl stuff on its way.

Blaster man

This was a fun little thing to do, I did it right after I got my markers. I love the way ink looks on paper, neat tones. I also love how fast it enables me to render. I find I am very comfortable when using coloring in marker. Not sure why.

All I know is, markers are a lot of fun :) I need to start doing more of these.

Oh me, oh my

Here it be, another nifty face sketch I did with my little system I learned. Not quite as expressive as the other one but I still like it. Kind of looks like a stiff lipped Irish mobster or something.

All in all a nice piece I think, but my big challenge is working some new emotions into these.

Stay tuned and wish me luck

Mind Frag

I liked this sketch sooo much. After working on this on and off for a few days, I finally found time to complete it.

It is all imaginative too, which I am especially impressed with. I've learned a few tricks recently and they seem to be working out quite well. Seeing and building things with simple shapes is very useful.

I'll be jamming on some more of these very soon, so keep them eyes peeled.

I love old cars(gearhead alert)

I love old sports and muscle cars, and motorcycles with a passion. It's been this way ever since I was a little tyke.

I don't know what it is about powerful and exotic vehicles, I just can't help myself(those who know me can attest to this). Every time i see some fancy ride I have to go out of my way to point it out.

Thats why I did this a while back, just thought I should share it.

1959 Porsche 356, so beautiful.

I know I'm gonna have to break down and draw some more hot rides soon. Seriously.

Stay tuned folks.

Cosmic stuff

My fam had a BBQ here a few weeks ago and I had the utmost good fortune.

I met this uber awesome professional Painter/landscape artist who was a lot of fun to talk to and stuff. She's the GF of one of the guys playing in my dad's blues band.

So to cut a relatively long story short, I might be able to go and learn a thing or two from this chick. I'm sure I'd learn a lot too, because she is very skilled. If I apply what I learn from her to my style and subject matter, I would be pro!!!

Interesting

Well now, might as well give you all a taste of what I am capable of. Sci-fi anything is the shiz-NIGHT!!!

These are all really recent. The dude up on top I colored in with some marker action, since I recently acquired more than 220 prisma and letraset markers on Craigslist, for practically nothing.

They are a lot of fun to use and they enable to to render very quickly. Which is nice, when I am compelled to spill my thoughts onto paper.

The middle one, I did after finally getting a "basic"(as basic as you can get) level of competence in CS2. I had a lot of fun playing with stark contrasts and lighting effects in this one. Airbrush tool=ftw.

I don't know why, but sci-fi themes like this have always been fascinating to me. You know, like strange mechanical devices, heavy suits of power armor and stuff, robotic mega-entities, all very mystifying and intriguing.

And lastly, BAM! chicks like her are always fun too. Especially from that view. Hehe!!!

Anyhoo, enough enough already. For now that is....

Time to blog it!
